Spring is in the air!
We are avid supporters of the Hamilton Burlington SPCA, and have adopted all of our animals from them, ranging from puppies and kittens, to older animals who need a little TLC. Each animal has their own unique story, and challenges, but as a family we have found it a very mutually supportive experience, with the benefits greatly outweighing the costs. At first, some of the “special” cases can be a little challenging, but over time, if you just stick it out, it can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Since Spring sees an influx of unwanted animals, we thought it was the perfect time to share our adoption stories, and also adoption information listed for the HBSPCA below.
Why adopt from the HBSPCA?
You save a life.
When you adopt from the HBSPCA, you are providing a forever home for a pet that was at risk or homeless. And when your pet goes home with you, another space is opened up for an animal in need of love, care, and a second chance. Adopters are heroes.
You get lots of support.
You meet your match at the HBSPCA. The Meet Your Match tool helps match the animal’s personality, interests and unique characteristics with your preferences and lifestyle. Following the adoption, we answer your questions, provide helpful tips when your new furry friend is adjusting at home, and refer you to other experts if required. And, each pet adopted is covered by pet health insurance for 6 weeks.
You get great value.
For dogs and cats, your adoption fee includes spaying or neutering, vaccinations, flea treatment, micro-chipping and more to set your new companion up for a healthy start to their new life.
