“Hamilton’s planning committee rejected a development application along Rymal Road because the proposal had too few houses on the nearly one-hectare piece of land.

The owner of the property at 212 and 220 Rymal Rd. W., Atlas Homes Corp., had applied for a zoning bylaw amendment for five new single-family homes on the 0.79-hectare property. A single building currently on the land is proposed to be demolished.

City planning staff had approved the application, stating it was “consistent” with the province’s planning and complies with the city’s own urban official plan.”
